The Pharisee and
the Tax Collector
![]()
Two men went to the temple to pray.
One man was a Pharisee, the other was a tax collector.
The Pharisee was a good man and people liked him.
The Pharisee prayed, "God, I thank you that I am not like the other men.
I am not unfair, greedy and I fast twice a week."
The tax collector was an unfair man.
People didn't like him.
He was ashamed of himself and stood as far away from the Pharisee as he could.
The tax collector prayed, " God have mercy on me for I am a sinner."
God forgave the tax collector and did not forgive the Pharisee.
Jesus tells us," Everyone who praises himself will be humbled. He who humbles himself will be praised."

That was a wonderful story, wasn't it?
Jesus told us to be humble, didn't He?
He wants us to think more of others, doesn't He?
What do you think?
Write
and tell me BUT ask your parents first

Let's Pray:
Thank you, Jesus for teaching us.
Help me to be more humble.
Help me to put others first.
Thank you, Jesus for showing us the way.
I love you, Jesus.
Amen
