The Talents
![]()
There was this rich man who was going on a trip.
He called three of his servants.
To the best of his servants, he gave 5 talents, which is money.
To a good servant he gave 2 talents.
To a poor servant he gave 1 talent.
Then the man went off on his long trip.
Immediately, the best of the servants took his 5 talents
and
invested it wisely and made an additional 5 talents.
The good servant took his 2 talents and
invested it wisely and made an additional 2 talents.
The poor servant took the 1 talent and
buried it in the ground for safe keeping.
After a long time, the man came back from his trip.
He called the servants in to see what they
had done with the money he had given them.
The best of the servants said, " Master, you gave me 5
talents
and I have made 5 more."
The master said, "Well done my good and faithful servant.
Since you were faithful in small matters,
I will give you great responsibilities."
The good servant said, "You have given me 2
talents and I made 2 more."
The master said, "Well done my good and faithful servant.
Since you were faithful in small matters,
I will give you great responsibilities."
The poor servant said, "I buried your talent in the ground
to keep it safe."
Then he gave it back.
The master said, "You should have invested the talent
I gave you.
You are lazy and get no other responsibilities."

What did that story tell you?
Does Jesus give us gifts?
How do we make them grow?
What gifts has Jesus given you?
Tell me what you think
Write and tell me BUT ask your parents first

Let's Pray:
Thank you Jesus for teaching us.
Thank you Jesus for showing us the way.
Help me to use the gifts you have given me wisely.
Help me to make them grow.
I love you Jesus.
Amen
