Jesus Stories
The Acts of the Apostles

Don't be Lame Anymore

Peter and John were on their way to the temple.

They always prayed at 3:00 daily.

3:00 is the time that Jesus died on the cross.

There was a man there.

He was lying on the ground at the gate to the temple.

Everyday, the man had people carry him there.

He was lame.

He couldn't walk.

He couldn't work.

He couldn't earn any money.

He would ask people that were passing for money.

He asked Peter and John for money.

Peter said, "We don't have any money for you."

The lame man was sad.

He put his head down.

Peter said, "I do have something even better than money for you."

The lame man was so happy.

He looked at Peter with a big smile.

"I command you in the name of Jesus, WALK," said Peter.

Then Peter reached down and took the man by the hand and helped him to his feet.

The man's feet and ankle bones were healed.

The man could feel the strength pour into his legs.

He walked,

He jumped,

He ran into the temple,

to thank God.

What do you think?

What is better than money?

Did you think Peter would heal them?

Write and tell me what you think , BUT, ask your parents first.

Let's Pray:
Dear God,
Thank you for the gifts you give to me just as you gave to the apostles.
Thank you for my health.
Thank you for caring when I am sick.
Help me to always remember that it is You who can help me all the time.
This I ask through Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Can you think of a better prayer?
