The Acts of the Apostles

A Boy Saves Paul

Paul was preaching in Jerusalem.

The Jews that lived there became confused.

They thought that Paul was telling them wrong things.

Paul was in the temple.

The whole city became upset.

They rushed to the temple and dragged Paul out.

They arrested Paul.

Paul was brought before the Senhedrin.

Paul was telling them what happened.

Paul said, "I am a Pharisee.  I am on trial because I have hope in the resurrection of the dead."

When he said that, there was an argument between the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

The Sadducees say there are no angels.

The Sadducees say there is no spirit.

The Sadducees say there is no resurrection.

The Pharisees say there are angels.

The Pharisees say there are spirits.

The Pharisees say there is a resurrection.

The argument became so fierce, the soldiers took Paul away so he wouldn't be hurt.

That night, the Lord came to Paul said, "Have courage."

The next day, Paul's nephew heard the Jews planing to kill Paul.

The Jews went to the chief priests and elders and said, " We have vowed to neither eat nor drink until we have killed Paul.  You must help us.  You must ask him to come here for further investigation and we will ambush him before he gets here."

Upon hearing this, Paul's nephew hurried to where Paul was being held and told him all about it.

Paul called the guard, "Please take this boy to the commander.  He has something to tell him."

The guard did as Paul asked and took him to the commander.

The commander took the boy by the hand and asked what he had to tell him.

The young boy told him everything.

The commander thanked him.

The young boy left.

The commander asked the guards to move Paul to another city.

They did.

Paul was saved.

Paul was saved all because of the courage of a young boy.

What do you think?

Would you have the courage to talk to the Commander?

Would you tell what you heard?

Do you think they were right to put Paul in jail?

Do you know why he was in jail?

Write and tell me what you think , BUT, ask your parents first.

Let's Pray:
Dear God,
Thank you for always being with me.
Thank you for caring for me.
Help me to always have the courage to do the right thing even when I am scared.
This I ask through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
Can you think of a better prayer?
