Teaching About the Law
Theme: To practice the will of God

Jesus tells us that He did not come take away the law. Jesus said that He came to fulfill the law. Jesus was talking about God's law.
All of God's laws are very important.  Jesus says, For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the law, until all is accomplished.
The smallest letter was a Hebrew letter about the size of an apostrophe.  '
The stroke of the pen is called a serif, a little projection at the bottom of a letter.
Jesus tells us that all of God's laws, even the tiniest of His laws, are very important. So we must all follow every law all the time.  Not just when we want to or when we feel like it, but all the time.

If you are good, you will obey God's law, but keep it in spirit also.
Jesus says, For I say to you, that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Scribes - writers
Pharisees - men who were very strict in following the rites and ceremonies of the Jewish law
Some people do just what they have to, to get by.  That isn't what Jesus wanted.  He wants you to do more. That is what keeping the law in spirit means
Jesus did more than He had to.  Jesus wants us to do more than we have to.  Do you want to do more?  That makes Jesus very happy
