Joyful Mysteries

The First Joyful Mystery
 ANNUNCIATION

         1. Mary is praying in her home in Nazareth.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        2. God had a plan for Mary
     (say the Hail Mary)

        3. An Angel named Gabriel appears to Mary
     (say the Hail Mary)

        4. Gabriel says, "Hail Mary, full of Grace."
     (say the Hail Mary)

        5. Mary wonders why he said that to her
     (say the Hail Mary)

        6. He asked her if she wanted to be the mother of Jesus
     (say the Hail Mary)

        7. Mary asks how this will happen
    (say the Hail Mary)
        8. Gabriel told he that the Holy Sprit would come to her.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        9. Gabriel waits for her answer
     (say the Hail Mary)

        10. Mary said, "Yes, let the Lord do with me as He wills."
     (say the Hail Mary)

The Second Joyful Mystery
VISITATION

        1. Mary had a cousin named Elizabeth who was going to have a baby
     (say the Hail Mary)

        2. Elizabeth was old and needed some help
     (say the Hail Mary)

        3. Mary decided she would go to her cousin and help her.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        4. The journey was a hard one, taking about 5 days.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        5. When Mary arrives, immediately the child in Elizabeth's womb, leapt
     (say the Hail Mary)

        6. Elizabeth exclaims: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed
     is the child in your womb."
     (say the Hail Mary)

        7. "How have I deserved that the mother of my Lord should come
     to me?" asks Elizabeth
     (say the Hail Mary)

        8. Mary replies: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and
     my spirit finds joy in God my Savior."
     (say the Hail Mary)

        9. Mary begins her work for Elizabeth, cooking and cleaning.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        10. Mary woks for her cousin for three months until the birth of John the Baptist.
     (say the Hail Mary)

The Third Joyful Mystery
JESUS IS BORN

        1. Joseph and Mary go to Bethlehem because the law said they had to.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        2. It was a hard journey for Mary because she was near to give birth to Jesus.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        3. When they got to Bethlehem, there was no place for them stay.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        4. Joseph finds a place in a stable for Mary to rest.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        5. He set about making her comfortable.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        6. In the quiet of the night, Jesus is born.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        7. Mary wraps him in pieces of cloth to keep him warm.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        8. Mary and Joseph love their new baby.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        9. The angels tell the shepherds that the Son of God is here.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        10. The Shepherds and the Magi come to see Jesus.
     (say the Hail Mary)

The Fourth Joyful Mystery
THE PRESENTATION
 

        1. According to the law, Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the temple to
            present Him to the Lord.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        2. According to the law, the first born male child of every family
            should be consecrated to the Lord.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        3. Mary offers Jesus to the Father, the priests pray over Him.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        4. Jesus is not subject to the law, yet to teach obedience,
            submits to it.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        5. Mary is cleansed according to the law.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        6. God told Simeon that he would not die until he had seen the Messiah.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        7.  Simeon prays: "Now you can take me. You have fulfilled your word."
     (say the Hail Mary)

        8. Simeon says to Mary, "And your soul a sword shall pierce."
     (say the Hail Mary)

        9. Mary and Joseph do as the law requires
     (say the Hail Mary)

        10. After they fulfill all the law requires they return to Nazareth.
     (say the Hail Mary)

The Fifth Joyful Mystery
THE FINDING OF JESUS IN THE
TEMPLE
 

        1. When Jesus is twelve years old, He goes with His parents to
             Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        2. After the feast of the Passover, Joseph and Mary started back to Nazareth
            without Jesus.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        3. At the end of the first day, they discover Jesus isn't with them.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        4. His parents return to Jerusalem looking for Him.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        5. Mary and Joseph are so upset.  They couldn't find him anywhere.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        6. They search for 3 days
     (say the Hail Mary)

        7. On the third day, they find Jesus in the Temple among the
            Doctors who were astonished at His wisdom.
     (say the Hail Mary)

        8. Mary said to him, "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I
            have been searching for you in sorrow."
     (say the Hail Mary)

        9. Jesus: "Why did you search for me? Did you not know that I
            must be about my Father's business?"
     (say the Hail Mary)

        10. Jesus returns  to Nazareth with them and never caused one more bit of worry.
     (say the Hail Mary)
