Glorious Mysteries




The First Glorious Mystery

THE RESURRECTION

       1. The body of Jesus is placed in the tomb on the evening of Good Friday.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       2. Everyone is so sad.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       3. Afraid that someone might come into the tomb,
          there are soldiers placed to guard the entrance.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       4. On the third day, Sunday, Jesus rises from the dead.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       5. The earth quakes as the angel rolls back the stone, the guards ran away.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       6. The women coming to anoint the body of Jesus are amazed
           to find the tomb open.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       7. An angel says to them, "He is not here but has risen."
     (say the Hail Mary)

       8. Jesus appears to Mary Magdalen and Peter and two disciples on
           the way to Emmaus.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       9. That evening He appears to the apostles behind locked doors.
           He says to them, "Peace be with you."
    (say the Hail Mary)

       10. Jesus gives them the power to forgive sin.
     (say the Hail Mary)

The Second Glorious Mystery

THE ASCENSION

       1. Jesus remains on earth forty days after His Resurrection to prove
           He has truly risen from the dead.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       2. He tells His apostles to preach the gospel every
           where, and promises to be with them forever.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       3. He promises to send the Holy Spirit to enlighten and strengthen them.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       4. Jesus goes to Mount  Olivet accompanied by His Mother and the apostles and disciples.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       5. He gives a blessing to them all and ascends
     into heaven.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       6. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       7. Two angels appear to the people on Mt. Olivet.  They
           ask, "Why do you stand looking at the heavens?"
     (say the Hail Mary)

       8. The angels tell the disciples that Jesus will come back again.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       9. This is what Our Father had promised us.
     (say the Hail Mary)
 

       10. The disciples leave Mount Olivet with great joy.
     (say the Hail Mary)
 
 

The Third Glorious Mystery

THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

       1. Jesus told the apostles to wait for the Holy Spirit to come to them.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       2. They go in the room where Jesus held the last supper.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       3. The apostles and Mary wait for the Holy Sprit to come to them.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       4. They wait for nine days praying the whole time
     (say the Hail Mary)

       5. A sound comes from heaven like the rush of wind, and it
            fills the whole house.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       6. The Holy Spirit descends on each of them.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       7. Filled with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, they are enlightened and
           strengthened to spread the gospel.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       8. No matter what the language was, each man hears them speak in his own language.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       9.  The Holy Spirit comes upon the new Church never to leave it.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       10. The first day Peter preaches, he baptizes three thousand.
     (say the Hail Mary)

The Fourth Glorious Mystery

THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY INTO HEAVEN
 

       1. Our  Blessed Mother goes to live with John, as her Son had asked.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       2. Mary lives many years on earth after the death of Jesus.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       3. She offers comfort and strength to the apostles.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       4. She prays for the them and the new church that is being started.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       5. Naturally, they are sad at the thought of losing their mother.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       6. They will miss her a lot.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       7. They lay her in the tomb
     (say the Hail Mary)

       8. The apostles go to the tomb later and find only lilies.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       9. Joyously they realize that Jesus would not permit His Holy
           Mother's body to lay in the tomb.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       10. He has assumed her body as well as her soul into heaven to be with Him.
     (say the Hail Mary)

The Fifth Glorious Mystery

THE CORONATION OF MARY AS QUEEN OF HEAVEN
 

       1. All of heaven greets Mary with joy as she enters.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       2. Jesus crowns Mary the Queen of heaven and earth.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       3. More than we can ever know, the Hearts of Jesus and Mary
           overflow with joy at this reunion.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       4. Only in heaven will we know how happy all the angels and saints were.
      (say the Hail Mary)

       5. Even the angels serve Mary as their Queen.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       6. Mary shares as fully in the glory of Jesus as she shared in his suffering.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       7. From heaven, Our Mother gives us love and peace.
     (say the Hail Mary)

       8. Jesus gave His mother, Mary, to be our Mother
     (say the Hail Mary)

       9. Our Mother, Mary, prays for us .
     (say the Hail Mary)

       10. Together again, Jesus and Mary
      (say the Hail Mary)
