The New Rosary for Kids E-Book
Contains the New mysteriesNow we will learn how to pray the rosary. It's pretty easy once you get used to it. You must practice, though. There are prayers that you must say. They are:
That sounds like a lot, doesn't it?
I will write the prayers and you can just read them until you think you know and then try it on you own.The thing with the rosary is that it's a combination of saying the payers and thinking on different things in the life of Jesus and His Mother called mysteries.
When you thing of those things, that's called meditation.
I will give you some possible meditations to make it a little easier. It doesn't mean that what I write is all that you can think about. You can think of anything pertaining to that mystery you want.
There are 3 different mysteries.
Each mystery has five different mysteries because there are five decades to the rosary.
This is what I mean:
1. The Annunciation to Mary
2. The Visitation of Mary
3. The Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ
4. The Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple
5. The Finding of Our Lord in the Temple
1. The Agony of Christ in the Garden
2. The Scourging at the Pillar
3. The Crowning with Thorns
4. The Carrying of the Cross
5. The Crucifixion and Death of Our Lord on the Cross
1. The Resurrection of Our Lord
2. The Ascension of Our Lord
3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles
4. The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven
5. The Coronation of Our Lady as Queen of Heaven and Earth
1. Baptism of Christ in the Jordan
2. Wedding feast at Cana
3. Announcement of the Kingdom
4. Transfiguration
5. Institution of the Eucharist
Now ask your parents which day to say which Mystery. I wrote them under each heading so you wont forget. Here are the prayers:
The
Apostle's Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day, He rose again. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Our
Father:
Our Father, Who art in Heaven; hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.Click here to see what the words mean to the Our Father.
Hail
Mary:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art Thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.Click here to see what the words mean to the Hail Mary.
Glory
Be:
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
O
My Jesus:
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy. Amen.
Hail,
Holy Queen:
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us. And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.- Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
- That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let Us Pray: O God, Whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these Mysteries of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain, and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Perhaps you could print the prayers and study them. That's what I did. I read them off the paper until I had them memorized.
That is just about all there is to it. There is a lot to do at once but with a little practice, it gets easier. Any thing is hard the first time we try it but just rest assured with the help of your parents, it will get easier.
Let me know if I can help in any way.Go here for a diagram
