Saint Jude Thaddeus Most Holy Apostle, Saint Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of his enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors you, and I invoke you as the special advocate of those who are in trouble and almost without hope. Help me to realize that through our faith we triumph over life's difficulties by the power of Jesus who loved us and gave his life for us. Come to my assistance that I may receive the consolation and succor of heaven in all my needs, trials, and sufferings, particularly (Here Make Your Request) and that I may praise God with you, and all the saints, forever. Saint Jude is inextricably linked with Judas Iscariot, the traitor apostle. Judas established the close connection between blood and money, when he half-repented by returning the 30 pieces of silver, saying that he had betrayed innocent blood, by identifying Jesus to those who had come to arrest Him. Of course, the Pharisees rejected Judas's plea that they take back the 30 pieces of silver, for these officials also regarded the sum as blood money. There is an equivalence between blood and money that may be understood by the biblical phrase: the mammon of unrighteousness. The mammom of unrighteousness is the working out, to the last detail, of what Saint Paul meant when he said that "money is the root of all evil." The mammon of unrighteousness is the complex of manipulations and occult forces that enable Satan, the "god" of this world, to rule through man's love for money.  You may remember that Jesus said that the children of light are not as astute as the children of darkness are in their dealings. Jesus attributed this unhappy condition to the mammon of unrighteousness which worked in favor of the children of darkness, and to the cruel detriment of the children of light. Well, just as Judas was the betrayer of Jesus and His secret place in the Garden of Gethsemane, so now is Saint Jude the betrayer of the "god" of this world, and his devilish secret of the  mammon of unrighteousness. For his faithful devotees, and to the greater glory of his master, Jesus Christ, Saint Jude turns the mammon of unrighteousness against itself.   So, in ways that surpass the operations of  luck in the extreme, Saint Jude makes the mammon of unrighteousness  give up its unjustly held goods to his petitioners. The Old Testament says "There is life in the blood." I love the Chaplet of Saint Jude because it empahsizes the BLOOD relationship of Saint Jude to Our Lord, Jesus Christ, Our Blessed Virgin Mary, and Saint Joseph. But to this effect, in particular: Judas sold the blood of Jesus to his enemies; But in a total reversal, Jesus has given to Saint Jude the value of His betrayed Blood for him to dispense in the forms of innumerable blessings to his devotees, especially those who are most desperately the victims of the mammon of unrighteousness.  We are living in times of terrible financial stresses. While Saint Jude always wants us to seek, with his heavenly help, the higher things of God, he also eagerly awaits our prayers for miraculous deliverance from  the mammon of unrighteousness. Based on my own personal experience, I believe that Saint Jude tenderly favors and cherishes the hearing of his Chaplet recited 40 beads-long to commemorate his BLOOD relationship to the Holy Family. The flux and flow of the phenomena that make up the stuff of  your daily experience, will be touched to wondrously, surprising issue by your habitual recitation of the Chaplet of Saint Jude.
