i am the mother of a mentally disabled daughter, she went in to have a bath and i decided it was a good time to run over to the store, my daughter was 20 at the time and quite capable of bathing herself, on my way out the door i heard my dog barking upstairs, the thought suddenly came to my mind, the dog is barking laura is drowning the dog,,for absolutely no reason i flew up the stairs and into the bathroom and my daughter was underwater and i pulled her up and she is fine,,,but it is something i have never forgotten.  i mistook the thought that laura was drowning the dog, i expected to find her drowning the dog, but the dog barking was a warning that she was drowning.  but i had no reason to think that the dogs barking was an indication that my daughter was drowning.
