My Son, The Early Bird
On May 22, 2007, with 9 weeks before my due date, my beautiful son Connor decided to enter the world by popping out in my Doctor's office.
A few weeks prior, I had been having some odd dreams, but I now see that they were to foreshadow what was going to happen. That morning when I woke up, I knew something wasn't quite right, but because I didn't feel any pain, or see any blood, I didn't think much of it. By 3pm, I'd been feeling out of breath and decided to get into the bath and wait for my husband to come home so that we could go to the Dr. I'd had some slight pains that I thought were gas, and I just wanted to have them checked out. Well, during the 35 minute drive, I had flashbacks of dreams that I'd had. When we got to the office, I went into the bathroom and saw blood. 15 minutes later, Connor popped out into the Doctor's arms. She grabbed him and used a lil oxygen bag to help him breathe. They along with my husband took an ambulance to the hospital which was luckily only 1.5 miles away.
He was stabilized and then brought to the NICU at another hospital. He was doing great until about 2 weeks later. They discovered he was sick and were afraid that it was meningitis. I knew in my soul that it was not that, because I had an eery calm within me. I had always known he was fine. After they did a spinal tap to be sure, I was sitting in the NICU holding him as I did for hours everyday. We were set back against the wall just resting and all of a sudden I was greeted by the most beautiful reverend. He smiled at me and asked my son's name. He was just so happy. He had tears in his eyes and said that there was nothing more beautiful than a mother and her baby. It was then that I knew that was God talking. God was telling me not to worry, things were going to be fine, and that he was there watching over us, I just felt that with that small interaction with that beautiful, kind man. THANKFULLY that was very true, and he is a beautiful healthy amazing lil 9 month old boy. I saw God throughout that entire experience, and I trusted him, and felt his love. I thank him everyday for all my blessings, with my most precious being my lil man.
