Poetry

MARY MY MOTHER

Mary my mother,
Bless me with your love
Please ask your son
To forgive my sins
And fill my heart with love

Mary my mother
I look at the sky so blue
I say the rosary
And ask forgiveness
For the sins I do

Mary my mother
I see your beautiful face
Whenever day begins
You are always with me
Wherever I may go

Mary my mother
I love you heart and soul
Tell Jesus your son
I love him also
One day In eternity
I hope to walk the streets of gold

PRAY FOR ME MOTHER MARY

Dear Mother Mary And little baby Jesus
Say a pray for me
Tonight loving Mary as You rock baby Jesus
Please sing for my spirit to be free
I will keep You in my heart
For I forever love mother and son
There is no one as kind or caring
Not anyone

Dear Mother Mary and little baby Jesus
I lift my eyes and I see the angels
Playing harps just for me
Smile for me little baby Jesus
Tell me about Your love
I wait here for mother and child
I look for a white dove

Pray for me mother Mary and baby Jesus
I listen for Your voice
You both are so beautiful
I found Your bright light
Help me say the rosary
I know they are Your loving heart

Dear Mother Mary and little baby Jesus
I can see You in my eyes
Hold me and care for me
In Your hands is my soul
Keep me forever with You
Please say a pray
Speak it low.

Mary, The Mother Of Jesus

Mary watched as her son Jesus
Was beaten with whips on His back
She saw with dread, how the Roman soldiers
Put a crown of thorns on His dear head

Mary, the mother of Jesus
Suffered with Him
As He walked the streets
Each step the path to the cross for our sin

She wanted to be with Him to gently wash His face
As she watched Him falling in the hate,
Simon was told to pick up His cross
He carried it until they reached the place
Where Jesus and two thieves hung on the cross
in disgrace

Mary, the mother of Jesus
Could see as the soldiers
Hammered nails in His hands and His feet
The agony of watching her beloved son die
Was a pain like no other
At the hour of 3pm, one thief asked Jesus
To take his soul to heaven
Jesus promised He would see heaven's wonder

Mary, watched as all grew dark
The earth shook with lightning and thunder
The Roman soldiers, all became afraid and ran away
as the earth split asunder
but a group of women stayed
with Mary, the mother of Jesus, and John
who Jesus asked to care for His mother

Jesus was put to rest
On the third day Mary and Mary Magdalene
Worshipped Jesus in the garden,
He was risen from the dead, just as He always said

All Jesus did, was so we could live
Mary the mother of Our Lord Jesus
Suffered as few have done
We should pray, as she learnt
If we want peace on the earth

Secrets

Mother Mary, will you listen
To the things I wish to say?
How your sweet eyes used to glisten
As you watched Him at His play!

And when He'd creep up to your knee,
And when He'd pause for rest,
You'd lift Him, O so tenderly,
And clasp Him to your breast.

Baby lips would lisp their secrets-
  Precious words into your ear.
And you held Him tight and listened,
         listened
While you wiped away a tear.

Mother Mary, I've been playing,
And I've come to you for rest.
Lift me up as you did Jesus-
Clasp me safely to your breast.

I will whisper all my secrets-
  Halting words into your ear.

Though they're not as sweet as His were,
  Mother Mary, won't you hear?

Mary's Soliloquy

O Baby Mine! let me see Thy Face,
Let me gaze on Thee, my Beautiful One,
Ye myriad Angels, come lend your aid
While I press to my heart my Little Son.

My Babe! O God that this bliss should be
    Given to me, Thy handmaid lowly;
Oh, yes! my Love, Thou art mine, yes, mine,
My Fragrant Flower, so fair, so holy.

I kiss Thy forehead, sweet Baby Mine,
Thy lips and Thy dimpled Hands so tender,
I press to my bosom Thy Heart Divine
And yearn of my care and love to render.

Dost see the bliss in Thy Mother's eyes?
Dost feel the thrill in my happy heart?
As I, wondering, gaze on my God and Saviour,
And know that in truth my Son Thou art.

Ye angels, come aid me to thank the Father,
     <<Magnificat!>> let my soul now sing;
He that is mighty hath stooped to His handmaid
He hath given to me my Son and my King.

Stabat Mater

At the cross her station keeping,
Mary stood in sorrow weeping
When her Son was crucified.

While she waited in her anguish,
Seeing Christ in torment languish,
Bitter sorrow pierced her heart.

With what pain and desolation,
With what noble resignation,
Mary watched her dying Son.

Ever patient in her yearning
Though her tear-filled eyes were burning,
Mary gazed upon her Son.

Who, that sorrow contemplating,
On that passion meditating,
Would not share the Virgin's grief?

Christ she saw, for our salvation,
Scourged with cruel acclamation,
Bruised and beaten by the rod.

Christ she saw with life-blood failing,
All her anguish unavailing,
Saw him breathe his very last.

Mary, fount of love's devotion,
Let me share with true emotion
All the sorrow you endured.

Virgin, ever interceding,
Hear me in my fervent pleading:
Fire me with your love of Christ.

Mother, may this prayer be granted:
That Christ's love may be implanted
In the depths of my poor soul.

At the cross, your sorrow sharing,
All your grief and torment bearing,
Let me stand and mourn with you.

Fairest maid of all creation,
Queen of hope and consolation,
Let me feel your grief sublime.

Virgin, in your love befriend me,
At the Judgement Day defend me.
Help me by your constant prayer.

Saviour, when my life shall leave me,
Through your mother's prayers
receive me
With the fruits of victory.

Virgin of all virgins blest!
Listen to my fond request:
Let me share your grief divine

Let me, to my latest breath,
In my body bear the death
Of your dying Son divine.

Wounded with His every wound,
Steep my soul till it has swooned
In His very Blood away.

Be to me, O Virgin, nigh,
Lest in flames I burn and die,
In His awe-full judgement day.

Savior, when my life shall leave me,
Through your mother's prayers
receive me
With the fruits of victory.

While my body here decays
May my soul your goodness praise,
Safe in heaven eternally. Amen Alleliua.

Mary Did You Know

Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?

Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will calm a storm with His hand?

Did you know
that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?

And when you kiss your little baby you've kissed the face of God.

The blind will see
The deaf will hear
The dead will live again
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb

Mary, did you know
that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?

Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?

Did you know
that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?

This sleeping child you're holding is the Great I Am.

And they will call Him Immanuel which means God with us.
Matthew 18:23

Hymns

QUEEN of all the saints in heaven,
 Enthroned above the starry sky,
Who with your bosom's milk have fed,
Your own Creator, Lord most high.

What man had lost in mother Eve,
Your sacred womb to man restores;
To helpless children here on earth,
You opened heaven's eternal doors.
We greet you, Mother of God's Son!
O lead us to our Savior King.
Through you redeemed to endless life,
Your praise let all the nations sing!

O Jesus, born of Virgin fair,
Immortal glory be to You!
And praise to You, 0 Father Kind,
And Holy Spirit praise to You.  Amen

HAlL, bright Star of ocean,
God's own Mother blest,
Ever-sinless Virgin,
Gate of heavenly rest!

Taking that sweet Ave
Which from Gabriel came,
Peace confirm within us,
Changing Eva's name.

Break the captive's fetters,
Light on blindness pour:
All our ills expelling,
Every bliss implore.

Show thyself a Mother;
May the Word Divine,
Born for us thine Infant,
Hear our prayers through thine.

Virgin all excelling,
Mildest of the mild,
Freed from guilt, preserve us
Meek and undefiled.

Keep our life all spotless,
Make our way secure,
Till we find in Jesus
Joy forevermore.

Through the highest heaven
To the Almighty Three,
Father, Son and Spirit,
One same glory be. Amen.

WHEN for me the sun is setting
At the close of life's brief day;
When my little ship is nearing
Port in yonder crystal bay;
Then, 0 my beloved Mother,
Stretch thy kind hand out to me,
Shield me, till my feet have touch'd the
Shore sand of eternity.

When my strength begins to vanish,
And earth's memories to fade;
When my friends stand sad and silent,
Powerless to give me aid;
Then, my beloved Mother,
Hold my trembling hand in thine,
Till my eyes shall see the steeples
Of the Holy City shine.

When at last my weary spirit
Seeks admission to thy throne,
When my lips in anxious longing
For thy gracious blessing moan!
Then, 0 thrice beloved Mother,
Open wide thy home and heart,
And let me, thy child, dwell ever,
Where thou Queen and Mother art.

MARY, Queen of Heaven, star on life's dark sea,
All our hearts are given, Virgin pure, to thee.
Life and land and nation at thy feet today
All in consecration joyfully we lay.

Queen of God's creation, Spouse of God's fair love,
Peerless is thy station with thy Son above.
In thy pure maternal hands our own we press;
Lead us to eternal heaven's happiness.

Well we know the kindness, shining in thy eyes,
From our sinful blindness thou wilt help us rise.
Earth can claim no other, Virgin, like to thee;
Ever blessed Mother, hear thy children's plea!

Daughter of the mighty Father,
Maiden, heavens brightest ray,
Angel forms around you gather,
Dawn of earth's Eternal Day!

Mother of the Son and Savior
Of the Truth, the Life, the Way,
Guide our footsteps, calm our passions,
Dawn of earth's Eternal Dayl

Spouse of the Eternal Spirit,
Blossom which will ne'er decay,
Let us but your love inherit,
Dawn of earth's Eternal Dayl

Daughter, Mother, Spouse of Heaven,
Hearken to our earnest lay,
Sweetest gift to man e'er given,
Dawn of earth's Eternal Day.

THOU Mother, fount of love!
Touch my spirit from above;
Make my heart with thine accord.
Make me feel as thou hast felt;
Make my soul to glow and melt
With the love of Christ our Lord.

Holy Mother, pierce me through;
In my heart each wound renew,
Of my Savior crucified!
Let me share with thee His pain,
Who for all my sins was slain,
Who for me in torments died

Let me mingle tears with thee,
Mourning Him who mourned for me,
All the days that I may live.
By the Cross with thee to stay,
There with thee to weep and pray,
Is all I ask of thee to give.

Virgin of all virgins best,
Listen to my fond request:
Let me share thy grief divine.
Let me, to my latest breath,
In my body bear the death
Of that dying Son of thine.

Wounded with His every wound,
Steep my soul till it has swooned
In His very Blood away.
Be to me, 0 virgin, nigh,
Lest in flames I burn and die,
In His awful Judgment Day.

Christ, when Thou shalt call me hence,
Be Thy Mother my defense,
Be Thy Cross my victory.
While my body here decays,
May my soul Thy goodness praise,
Safe in paradise with Thee. Amen

MOTHER and Maid, the praise of thee
The burden of our song shall be;
Thy joys, thy sorrows, and the crown
Of thine eternal bright renown:

The heavenly tidings brought to earth,
The visitation and the birth,
Christ offered, Christ restored to thee-
Hail, in each Joyful Mystery;

The bloody sweat, the soldier's scorn,
The scourging and the crown of thorn,
The burdened way, the bitter tree-
Hail, in each Woeful Mystery;

The risen and heaven-ascending Lord,
The Pentecostal unction poured,
Thy crown and endless jubilee-
Hail, in each Glorious Mystery.

May age to age forever sing
The Virgin's Son and angel's King,
And praise with the celestial host
The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

THE Holy Spirit chose thee for His Bride,
His favored Spouse immaculate to be.
By Him thy soul was made and beautified,
A spotless temple for the Trinity.
What veiled magnificence in thee I see:
No earthly pomp and fleeting greatness thine,
But from all stain of sin thy soul is free,
And bright within thy countless virtues shine,
For in thy heart there reigns a Spouse Who is divine.

Within the realms of God's thought,
Thou wast ordained the hope of paradise.
And in thy soul the Holy Spirit brought
The spendor which devotion glorifies.
He made thee pure and spotless in His eyes,
A spouse like to no other spouse on earth;
Salvation's Sun from thee could nobly rise,
0 Queen of Saints, before thy blessed birth!
What feeble mortal tongue can fully praise thy worth!

O gentle Queen, the Spirit's chaste abode,
Help us prepare for Him a worthy throne.
The way is dark and life a weary road;
Our will is weak, 'neath sorrow's sting we groan.
To thee we turn in exile and alone,
To see His presence singing in thy heart.
Our consecration to His love we own;
As thou thyself His tabernacle art,
His temples we shall be, and ne'er from Him depart.

HIGHEST Hope of mortals,
Blest Light of saints above,
0 Jesus, on whose boyhood
Home smiled with kindly love.

And thou whose bosom nursed Him,
0 Mary, highly graced,
Whose breast gave milk to Jesus,
Whose arms thy God embraced.

And thou of all men chosen
To guard the Virgin's fame,
to whom God's Son refused not
a father's gracious name.

Born for the nation's healing,
Of Jesse's lineage high,
Behold the supplicants kneeling,
O hear the sinners' cry!

The sun, returned to evening,
Dusks all the twilight air:
We, lingering here before You,
Pour out our heartfelt prayer.

Your home was a garden
Made glad with fairest flowers;
May life thus blossom sweetly
In every home of ours.

Jesus, to Thee be glory
The Maiden-Mother's Son,
With Father and with Spirit
While endless ages run.
